Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and passionate Resource Teacher - English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) to join our team. As a key member of our educational community, you will play a vital role in planning, coordinating, and implementing a comprehensive ESOL program that supports the academic success and cultural diversity of English Language Learners (ELLs) in our schools. Your expertise, creativity, and dedication will help us build a more inclusive and effective learning environment that prepares students for success in an increasingly globalized world. Key Responsibilities Plan, coordinate, and implement a comprehensive ESOL program that meets the diverse needs of ELLs in our schools. Train and coach colleagues, administrators, and staff in the use of effective, research-based methodologies leading to English proficiency development and academic success. Participate in problem-solving programmatic determinations on behalf of ELLs, identifying staff development needs and providing coaching and support to ensure their success. Expand relationships with school and community groups to promote the academic success and cultural diversity of ELLs, including the Leadership Team, ELL Committee, ESOL Parent Leadership Council/District Advisory Council, Lead Literacy Team, and learning communities. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and staff to develop and implement culturally responsive instructional strategies that support the academic success of ELLs. Monitor and assess the effectiveness of the ESOL program, making data-driven decisions to improve student outcomes and program delivery. Stay up-to-date with best practices in ESOL education, incorporating research-based methodologies and technologies to enhance student learning and engagement. Essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), English Education, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Exceptional Student Education, or Foreign Language. Minimum of three (3) years successful K-12 or college/university teaching experience, with a proven track record of supporting ELLs. Admission to the District School Board of Pasco County ESOL Resource Teacher pool. Valid Florida Educator's Certificate with ESOL (K-12) Coverage or ESOL Endorsement, or a minimum of three (3) of the five (5) required courses for the ESOL endorsement with an agreement to become ESOL certified or endorsed within one year of accepting the assignment. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in TESOL, English Education, or a related field. Experience working with diverse populations, including ELLs, students with disabilities, and students from low-income backgrounds. Knowledge of research-based methodologies and technologies that support English language development and academic success. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with teachers, administrators, staff, and community members. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a focus on student-centered learning and academic success.
