About the Emergency Department As a team member in our Emergency Department, you will have the opportunity to deliver quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Provider. You will be responsible for performing basic skills per department guidelines and communicating observations to members of the healthcare team. Our Emergency Department is a fast-paced and dynamic environment that requires individuals who are passionate about providing exceptional patient care and are able to work effectively in a team-based setting. Scope of Work As a Nurse Technician in our Emergency Department, you will be responsible for acting as a team member in the delivery of quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Provider. Your key responsibilities will include: Collecting and reporting physiological, psychological, sociocultural, and spiritual needs of patients and families in coordination with and as delineated by the RN or Provider Performing basic skills per department guidelines, such as taking vitals, checking blood sugars, bed bathing, ambulating, wound care, and catheterization Acting as a safety attendant for patients and ensuring their safety and well-being at all times Ensuring that the required documentation is performed in an accurate and timely manner Communicating effectively with members of the healthcare team to ensure that patients receive high-quality care Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 90 Days required, or CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 90 Days required Preferred qualifications include: Previous experience working in an Emergency Department or similar healthcare setting Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively in a team-based setting and prioritize tasks and responsibilities Basic computer skills and ability to navigate electronic medical records Skills and Competencies To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Strong clinical skills and ability to perform basic nursing tasks Effective communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively in a team-based setting and prioritize tasks and responsibilities Basic computer skills and ability to navigate electronic medical records Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Corewell Health, we are committed to providing our employees with opportunities for career growth and development.
