About the Role We're seeking an experienced and skilled Embedded Power Software Engineer to join our Remote Programming team. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for delivering critical remote accessibility features to our customers through Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS technologies. You'll design, develop, and patent the next generation of our top-tier accessibility technologies, collaborating across divisions to create seamless user experiences with Apple devices and services. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and test embedded power software for Apple devices, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS technologies Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create seamless user experiences with Apple devices and services Develop and implement low-level driver software for cell modem devices Optimize power management systems and software for Apple devices Investigate and resolve complex technical issues, including race conditions between software and hardware power management streams Participate in the development of new technologies and features, including patenting and publishing research papers Collaborate with other engineers to review and improve code quality, and to ensure that all software is reliable, efficient, and meets Apple's high standards Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you'll need: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field Experience in embedded systems development, including low-level driver development for cell modem devices Strong expertise in power management systems and software, including power architecture, power flows, and power driver development Excellent programming skills in languages such as C, C++, and Python Experience with debugging and troubleshooting complex technical issues Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred: Experience with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS technologies, including protocol stacks and device drivers Knowledge of computer architecture, including CPU, memory, and I/O subsystems Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems such as Git Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns Experience with machine learning and artificial intelligence technologies Skills and Competencies To succeed in this role, you'll need to demonstrate the following skills and competencies: Strong technical skills, including programming, debugging, and troubleshooting Excellent problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop creative solutions Strong collaboration and communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines Strong attention to detail, including the ability to review and improve code quality Passion for innovation and learning, including the ability to stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Apple, we're committed to helping our employees grow and develop their careers.
