As a Remote Data Entry Clerk at blithequark, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity and reliability of our digital database, working closely with our data management team to enter, verify, and maintain accurate information from a variety of sources. About the Role In this exciting opportunity, you will be responsible for transferring data from paper formats to computer files or database systems, using a range of tools and technologies, including keyboards, data recorders, and optical scanners. You will also enter data provided directly by customers, create spreadsheets with a large number of figures without errors, and verify data by comparing it with source documents. Your attention to detail and organizational skills will be essential in ensuring that our data is accurate, complete, and easily accessible. Key Responsibilities Transfer data from paper formats to computer files or database systems using keyboards, data recorders, or optical scanners Enter data provided directly by customers, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail Create spreadsheets with a large number of figures without errors, using tools such as MS Office Excel Verify data by comparing it with source documents, to ensure accuracy and completeness Update existing data, as required, to ensure that our digital database remains up-to-date and relevant Retrieve data from the database or electronic files as requested, providing timely and effective support to our teams Perform regular backups to ensure data preservation, protecting our valuable information assets Sort and organize paperwork after data entry, to ensure that data is not lost and that our physical files remain organized and easily accessible Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate a range of skills and qualifications, including: Demonstrated experience as a data entry clerk, with a proven track record of accuracy and attention to detail Fast typing ability, with knowledge of touch typing systems preferred Excellent knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet tools, such as MS Office Word and Excel Working knowledge of office equipment and computer hardware and peripheral devices Basic knowledge of databases, with an understanding of data confidentiality principles and practices Good command of English, both oral and written, with strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with our teams and customers Strong attention to detail, with the ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment High school diploma or equivalent, with relevant training or certification in data entry or a related field Preferred Qualifications In addition to the essential qualifications, we are looking for candidates who possess: Advanced knowledge of spreadsheet tools, such as MS Office Excel, with the ability to create complex spreadsheets and perform data analysis Experience with database management systems, with an understanding of data modeling and database design principles Knowledge of data visualization tools, with the ability to create interactive and dynamic reports and dashboards Experience working in a remote or hybrid environment, with the ability to self-motivate and work independently Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve data quality issues and discrepancies Career Growth and Development At blithequark, we are committed to supporting the career growth and development of our teams.
