Key Responsibilities As a Remote Data Entry Pharmacy Technician at blithequark, your primary focus will be on performing various services for the pharmacy, including but not limited to data entry, provider/patient/third party outreach, claim adjudication, prior authorizations, and ensuring customer satisfaction by handling each customer in a prompt, professional, and friendly manner. Your duties will include: Following blithequark policies and procedures, including register performance, security issues, and confidentiality, to maintain the highest standards of professionalism and integrity. Assisting the pharmacist by receiving new written or electronic prescriptions or refill requests, verifying the accuracy and completeness of patient information, and ensuring that all necessary details are correctly documented. Receiving new prescriptions from doctors’ offices, gathering required information, and referring medical questions to the pharmacist, demonstrating your ability to work effectively in a team environment. Accessing, inputting, and retrieving patient and prescription information into and from the computer system, successfully and efficiently billing insurance, generating labels for medications, and completing required documentation for controlled substance orders. Completing third-party claims adjudication, addressing rejections in a timely manner, and making necessary provider and third-party calls to ensure seamless operations. Maintaining effective communication with all staff regarding the data entry process, denied claims, daily progress, and other relevant matters to foster a collaborative work environment. Developing and maintaining courteous and professional relationships with patients, customers, and co-workers, reflecting blithequark's commitment to exceptional customer service. Working with the pharmacist to ensure proper Medicare DMEPOS paperwork is complete, providing appropriate products to customers, and maintaining accurate billing records, showcasing your attention to detail and organizational skills. Ensuring all controlled substance dispensing rules are followed, including monitoring MMEs, PDMP, and the date of the last fill, to comply with regulatory requirements and ensure patient safety. Conducting patient, provider, and third-party outreach calls as necessary, demonstrating your ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders. Assisting stores in the completion of Medication Therapy Management (MTMs) and data collection, contributing to the improvement of patient care and operational efficiency. Assisting Remote Data Entry Operations (RDOs) to complete tasks as necessary for the Operations team, highlighting your flexibility and willingness to support team goals. Performing other duties as assigned, showcasing your adaptability and commitment to the role and the organization. Essential Qualifications To excel in this role, you must possess a combination of technical knowledge, interpersonal skills, and professional experience. The essential qualifications include: A minimum of 3 years of pharmacy technician experience, demonstrating your understanding of pharmacy operations and your ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Extensive knowledge of Pioneer Rx or similar pharmacy software, showcasing your technical proficiency and ability to learn and adapt to new systems. Licensure with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician, ensuring compliance with state regulations and demonstrating your commitment to professional standards. Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, enabling you to effectively interact with patients, providers, third-party representatives, and colleagues. Ability to be self-motivated, working independently with minimal supervision while maintaining productivity and quality of work. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, or the ability to use resources to resolve issues, demonstrating your analytical thinking and resourcefulness. Education and Experience The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, supplemented by a strong science background, knowledge of the metric system, and good math skills. Familiarity with pharmacy terminology, medication names, and aseptic techniques is desirable. Current national pharmacy technician certification is required, along with a minimum of 3 years of retail pharmacy technician experience. Board of Pharmacy Registration Registration with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy is mandatory for this position, ensuring that you are legally authorized to practice as a pharmacy technician in the state.
