About the Role We're seeking an experienced Remote Customer Service and Sales Representative to join our team as a Retention Specialist. In this critical role, you'll be responsible for retaining customers who are considering canceling their services. You'll serve as an expert problem solver, providing award-winning customer experiences that increase brand loyalty and drive long-term growth. Your goal will be to identify opportunities, recommend solutions, and persuade customers to continue their relationship with blithequark. Key Responsibilities Handle a high volume of incoming calls from customers requesting to cancel their services Act as an expert problem solver, identifying opportunities and recommending long-term solutions to retain customers Provide exceptional customer experiences, reducing the need for repeat calls or escalations Utilize sales and customer service skills to persuade and upsell customers, addressing their concerns and frustrations Use attention to detail, active listening, and negotiation skills to resolve customer issues and save their business Leverage exceptional de-escalation skills to handle difficult calls, identifying concerns and providing multiple offers to resolve customer issues Retain long-term business for blithequark through customer service commitments, providing the right solutions to meet customer needs Consistently improve performance, achieving goals and objectives while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction Essential Qualifications To succeed in this role, you'll need: 2+ years of experience in a sales role, with a focus on customer retention and sales 2+ years of call center customer service and sales experience High school diploma, GED, college degree, or some college experience Ability to work with numerous screens and programs open to resolve customer issues Experience interpreting contracts and communicating terms and conditions Strong active listening, negotiation, and problem-solving skills Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: Previous experience in a retention or sales role, with a focus on customer loyalty and retention Knowledge of the smart home security industry, including products and services Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) software and other sales tools Strong technical skills, with the ability to learn and adapt to new systems and technologies Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you'll need to possess the following skills and competencies: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and outside the box Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high volume of incoming calls and customer interactions Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, and as part of a team Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At blithequark, we're committed to helping our employees grow and develop in their careers.
