About the Role In this critical role, you'll be responsible for retaining customers who are considering canceling their services. As a Retention Specialist, you'll serve as an expert problem solver, identifying opportunities to provide long-term solutions and recommending alternatives to keep customers engaged with our services. Your primary goal will be to deliver an award-winning customer experience that increases brand loyalty and retains customers for the long term. You'll handle a high volume of incoming calls, acting with empathy, compassion, and professionalism to resolve customer concerns and reduce frustration. Key Responsibilities Utilize customer service and sales experience to resolve customer issues and retain business Persuade and upsell customers on the value of blithequark's services, reducing customer frustration and displeasure Handle back-to-back calls with care, empathy, and professionalism, ensuring the best customer experience Use attention to detail and active listening skills to uncover customer issues and concerns, asking the right questions to provide tailored solutions Leverage exceptional de-escalation skills to resolve difficult customer situations, identifying concerns and providing multiple offers to address customer needs Retain long-term business for blithequark through customer service commitments, providing the right solutions to meet customer needs Consistently improve performance and achieve goals, using proven problem-solving skills to quickly identify and resolve customer concerns Maintain knowledge of blithequark's policies, products, services, and systems, as well as industry trends and competitor offerings Essential Qualifications To succeed in this role, you'll need: 2+ years of experience in a sales or customer service role, with a focus on customer retention and loyalty High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required; college degree or some college experience preferred Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with numerous screens and programs open simultaneously Ability to interpret contracts and communicate terms and conditions effectively Strong active listening skills, with the ability to ask the right questions to uncover customer issues and concerns Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: Experience working in a call center or customer service environment, with a focus on sales and retention Knowledge of the smart home security industry, including products, services, and trends Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) software and other sales tools Certifications or training in customer service, sales, or a related field Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you'll need to demonstrate the following skills and competencies: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and colleagues Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously Strong negotiation and persuasion skills, with the ability to influence customer decisions and retain business Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, and as part of a team Career Growth Opportunities At blithequark, we're committed to helping our employees grow and develop in their careers.
