Job Overview We are seeking an experienced and skilled Chat Moderator to join our team at blithequark. As a Chat Moderator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, inclusivity, and overall well-being of our online community. This part-time, remote, and flexible position offers the opportunity to work independently and as part of a dynamic team, moderating the chat of our official Discord server. Key Responsibilities Deleting messages made by users that violate the rules of the Discord server, ensuring a safe and respectful environment for all members. Banning users who have multiple and repeat violations of the rules, maintaining the integrity of the community. Muting users who have violated the rules, providing an opportunity for reflection and growth. Investigating reports made by users about violations of the rules, taking prompt and fair action to resolve issues. Collaborating with other moderators and team members to ensure consistency and fairness in moderation practices. Staying up-to-date with community guidelines, rules, and best practices, continuously improving moderation skills and knowledge. Qualifications and Requirements To be successful in this role, you must: Be at least 18 years of age or older, with a High School Diploma or GED. Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and groups. Be highly organized, with strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Have a strong understanding of online community dynamics, with experience in moderation or a related field (an asset). Be comfortable working independently, with minimal supervision, and as part of a remote team. Be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, to ensure adequate coverage of the Discord server.
