As a Principal Solutions Architect at AWS, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of clients, including the United Nations (UN) agencies, to help them accelerate and scale their digital transformation, reduce costs, and drive efficiency. Our company, Workwarp, is a partner of AWS, and we are seeking an experienced Principal Solutions Architect to join our team and work remotely with our clients. Job Overview In this role, you will be responsible for working with clients to understand their business challenges and providing solutions that leverage the latest cloud computing technologies. You will be the primary point of contact for clients and will work closely with them to design and implement cloud-based solutions that meet their business needs. You will also be responsible for training clients and partners on the latest AWS technologies and best practices. Key Responsibilities Ensuring a strong relationship with clients and working as their trusted advisor Training clients and partners on the latest AWS technologies and best practices Engaging with business leaders, technologists, designers, and inspectors at UN agencies to help them address challenges and gain insights using the latest technologies and methodologies Helping clients imagine the art of the possible, accelerating their initiatives, and proposing best-practice models aligned with their business outcomes Participating in and leading significant leap training and development design activities to create world-class, Well-Architected solutions for UN agencies and the AWS partners who work with them Advocating for clients to help drive continuous improvements to the AWS platform to influence the service roadmap Supporting other members of the account team and assisting with evaluating technical responses to proposals Collaborating and supporting larger AWS teams, Competency Partners, and AWS Partners, to deliver maximum value to clients Developing your existing technical breadth and industry expertise, you will cultivate expertise in AWS technologies to the point that you can contribute to and lead significant design discussions around architectures and applications in the cloud Creating and sharing best practice knowledge, technical content, and new reference models (such as white papers, code samples, blog posts) with the overall AWS Solutions Architecture community and the AWS customers and partners ecosystem Cultivating areas of specialty in specific areas relevant to your interests and clients' needs Contributing to the development of the Solutions Architecture team by helping with recruiting, mentoring, and coaching other members of the team Essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field Experience with cloud computing, systems architecture, software development, infrastructure architecture, data architecture, or DevOps Proven ability to analyze business, product, and technical requirements Ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations, and remote teams Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with business-level English, to be able to work with stakeholders in a client-facing role, as well as the technical foundation that enables you to effectively collaborate with and provide guidance to clients working in a functional role Passion for designing and building distributed computing systems for major UN agencies to accelerate and scale innovation, reduce costs, and drive efficiency Preferred Qualifications Experience architecting highly available, scalable, fault-tolerant systems that utilize load balancing, horizontal/vertical scaling Working knowledge of various technology areas, such as distributed web-scale web or mobile applications, Serverless, Big Data, analytics, AI, enterprise liabilities (SAP, VMware, Windows, etc.), high-performance databases (SQL and/or NoSQL), complex network implementation, significantly landed jobs, etc., and a strong understanding of Security and Compliance Working knowledge of cloud-native architectures; AWS certification (such as AWS Solutions Architect Associate or Professional) or equivalent certifications Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems such as Git Experience with cloud-based security and compliance frameworks such as HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and GDPR Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits As a Principal Solutions Architect at AWS, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of clients and technologies, and to develop your skills and expertise in cloud computing, architecture, and design.
