We are currently seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Part Time Remote Customer Service Specialist to join our After Hours Team. About the Role As a Part Time Remote Customer Service Specialist at Blithequark, you will play a critical role in ensuring seamless patient experiences by serving as the initial point of contact for inbound calls from patients, healthcare providers, and facilities. You will utilize our electronic health record system to validate and capture clinical and financial information, contributing to the coordination of patient care. Key Responsibilities Navigates the electronic health record system to obtain and validate historical information, capturing and documenting demographic and financial information while maintaining patient privacy and security as outlined by HIPAA. Manages a high volume of incoming calls from patients, healthcare providers, and facilities, ensuring resolution to the call by addressing a range of inquiries, including scheduling appointments, refilling medications, obtaining insurance referrals, and more. Leverages critical thinking with speed and accuracy to identify the reason for the call and take appropriate action based on caller need and acuity, researching complex issues and consulting/escalating to clinical staff when necessary. Schedules patient visits based on complex provider preferences, verifies and updates insurance, checks insurance eligibility, collects and documents demographics, and maintains proficiency in insurance basics, MyChart, and appointment instructions. Provides excellent and consistent customer service in a variety of situations, communicating in a professional, positive, and respectful manner with patients, providers, Blithequark staff, and external organizations. Maintains accountability for accurate data entry in the electronic health record system and adheres to established performance and customer service standards. Requirements and Qualifications Minimum Requirements: Education: High School Diploma or GED Experience: 2-5 years of recent healthcare or customer service experience Typing Test: Minimum speed of 35 wpm with 90% accuracy Location: Must live within 1 hour of St. Louis, Missouri Schedule: 24 hours per week, including Sunday 12:00a-9:30a, Thursday & Friday 4:00p-12:00p (Holiday Bucket 4:00p-12:00a) Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in healthcare customer service or a related field Familiarity with electronic health record systems and medical terminology Excellent communication and problem-solving skills What We Offer At Blithequark, we are committed to providing our team members with a comprehensive benefits package and a supportive work environment.
