Currently, we are seeking an experienced and dedicated Online Chinese Language Teacher to work with one of our clients in Salt Lake City, Utah. This is an exciting remote opportunity for a talented teacher to make a meaningful impact on a young learner's language journey. About the Client and the Course The client is a 12-year-old girl who is eager to learn Chinese from scratch. She is a native English speaker with a beginner's level in Chinese. The course consists of 50 hours of one-to-one lessons, which will be conducted via Zoom video-conference. The ideal candidate will be able to commit to teaching two sessions per week, every Tuesday and Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m. (Utah time, MDT). We are looking for a teacher who can start as soon as possible and is available for the entire duration of the course. Key Responsibilities Deliver engaging and interactive Chinese lessons to the client via Zoom video-conference Prepare tailored lesson plans and materials that cater to the client's learning style and goals Provide constructive feedback and encouragement to help the client progress in their language learning journey Utilize our proprietary software and tools to facilitate online lessons and track student progress Collaborate with our team to ensure the client receives the best possible learning experience Participate in training sessions to familiarize yourself with our software and teaching methodologies Essential Qualifications To be considered for this role, you must meet the following essential qualifications: Be a native Chinese speaker and/or hold a teaching degree or certificate in Chinese language instruction Have experience as an online trainer or teacher, with a proven track record of delivering successful lessons via video-conference Be available to teach at the specified times (Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6-7 p.m. MDT) and commit to the entire course duration Have your own computer and fast broadband connection at home, with a quiet and dedicated workspace for teaching Accept the compensation of $15 per hour Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Experience teaching Chinese to young learners or beginners Familiarity with our proprietary software and tools (training will be provided, but prior experience is a plus) A strong understanding of language learning methodologies and adult learning principles Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues A flexible and adaptable approach to teaching, with a willingness to adjust lesson plans and materials as needed Skills and Competencies To succeed in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Language skills: Native-level proficiency in Chinese, with excellent grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation Teaching skills: Ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons, with a focus on student-centered learning and outcomes Technical skills: Familiarity with video-conferencing tools (such as Zoom) and our proprietary software Communication skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to provide clear feedback and instructions Organizational skills: Ability to manage your time effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Language Trainers, we are committed to the ongoing development and growth of our teachers.
