Job Overview In this critical role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for our customers, providing top-notch service, and ensuring seamless communication throughout the loan application process. As a Customer Advocate, you will be responsible for processing loan applications, managing customer relationships, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to drive business results. Key Responsibilities Process loan applications in compliance with mortgage lending and applicable investor guidelines, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail. Act as the primary customer contact, providing timely updates, and resolving customer inquiries in a professional and courteous manner. Collaborate with underwriters, loan advisors, and other internal stakeholders to ensure smooth loan processing and exceptional customer experiences. Validate loan applications for completion and accuracy, confirming information entered in the Loan Origination System matches. Analyze loan applications, assess creditworthiness, and evaluate the likelihood of loan repayment, applying knowledge of AUS/Guidelines and loan products. Manage a pipeline of 30-50 loans, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines to ensure timely loan closures. Maintain accurate records of customer communication and loan statuses in the Loan Operating System. Qualifications and Requirements To be successful in this role, you will need: At least 3 years of experience in loan processing, with a strong background in VA and FHA loans (ideally with a portfolio split of 30/30/30 between FHA/VA/conventional). Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers, brokers, and internal stakeholders. Comfortable talking to brokers on the phone, with at least 80% of your job involving phone-based communication. Experience managing a pipeline of 30-50 loans, with a focus on refinance loans (ideally with a 50/50 split or more heavily focused on refinance loans). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze loan applications, assess creditworthiness, and evaluate loan products.
