Job Overview The Overprovisions Representative plays a vital role in our medical billing operations, responsible for processing credit balances, recoups, adjustments, and unidentified payments for Hospitalist and Clinic groups. As a key member of our team, you will be expected to adhere to the highest standards of ethical and moral conduct, ensuring that all tasks are performed in the best interest of TeamHealth. Key Responsibilities Review guarantor, government payers, and commercial insurance overpayments for all groups to determine who is to be refunded. Create manual tasks in ETM for invoices with overpayments and follow up on outstanding tasks to resolution. Assemble appropriate documentation to validate refunds and forward to senior representatives for approval. Handle telephone inquiries and correspondence related to credit balances, offsets, and unidentified payments. Process transfer of payment and cancelled check research forms, contacting insurance carriers/guarantors as necessary. Report consistent errors identified that affect accounts from being processed correctly and participate in team meetings to discuss ETM PIT reports, weekly credit reports, and Government Overprovisions 120+ reports. Research unidentified invoices and reports to determine the appropriate application of payments identified. Perform any and all duties as directed by Senior Representatives, Supervisors, and/or Managers. Qualifications and Experience To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent, along with at least one year of experience in medical billing. A demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment, meeting organization goals and objectives, is essential. You should be able to work well under pressure, be flexible in a fast-paced environment, and possess excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Essential Skills and Competencies Strong knowledge of medical billing principles and practices. Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task, set priorities, and follow through without direct supervision. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Zoom. Ability to maintain accuracy and production in a high-volume, fast-paced office environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to research and resolve complex issues.
