About the Role We're seeking an experienced Math Tutor to join our team at the Sylvan Learning Center in Glendora, CA. As a Math Tutor with Sylvan Learning, you'll be responsible for providing personalized instruction to students in a small group setting, focusing on upper-level math subjects such as Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Calculus. This is an excellent opportunity for educators who are passionate about math and dedicated to helping students achieve their full potential. Key Responsibilities Teach using Sylvan-based programs, providing personalized instruction to students in a 3:1 setting Supervise, interact with, and motivate students during instruction hours, ensuring they remain engaged and focused Reward students for completed assignments, promoting a positive and encouraging learning environment Evaluate and document student progress, identifying areas of improvement and adjusting instruction accordingly Communicate student needs to the center director, ensuring seamless collaboration and support Inspire students to reach their full potential, developing a rapport with them and establishing a fun, interactive learning environment Maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching and Sylvan's mission Requirements and Qualifications To be successful as a Math Tutor with Sylvan Learning, you'll need: A minimum of 90 college credits, with a preferred Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field Advanced knowledge and familiarity with teaching or tutoring in upper-level math subjects, including calculus, algebra 1 & 2, geometry, and trigonometry 2 years of teaching or tutoring experience preferred, although not required Strong communication skills and the ability to multi-task, ensuring effective instruction and student support What We Offer As a Sylvan Learning team member, you'll enjoy: A competitive hourly rate of $16-$18 per hour, recognizing your expertise and experience A fast-paced and dynamic work environment that challenges you to grow and make a meaningful impact Ongoing training and support, ensuring you're equipped to deliver high-quality instruction and achieve student success Opportunities for career growth and professional development within a leading education organization A collaborative and supportive team culture that values diversity, inclusivity, and employee well-being Work Environment and Company Culture At Sylvan Learning, we're committed to creating a positive and inclusive work environment that supports the well-being and success of our employees.
