About the Job As a local truck driver at blithequark, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and timely delivery of goods to our dedicated customers. A typical day for our drivers involves arriving at our terminal in Liverpool, NY, and embarking on a route that covers approximately 600 miles. You will be responsible for drop and hook work, with the majority of your routes looking similar from week to week, with only minor changes. We understand the importance of work-life balance, which is why we guarantee that you will be home every night, with no slip seating and a dedicated truck assigned to you. Our fleet consists of 2014 or newer Freightliners and Western Stars, ensuring that you have a safe and comfortable vehicle to operate. As a company driver (W2, solo), you can expect to earn a competitive average weekly pay of $1,200 - $1,500, with an average of 3,000 - 3,250 miles per week. Our dedicated, line haul routes operate on a day shift schedule, with no driver load/unload requirements. Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough inspections of your vehicle, equipment, and cargo to ensure everything is safe, legal, and secure. Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work area, adhering to our high standards of quality and excellence. Be available for work at all times to meet customer pickup and delivery schedules, demonstrating your commitment to reliability and customer satisfaction. Submit customer paperwork and deposits, including invoices, load orders, and handheld reports, in a timely and accurate manner. Maintain a driver's log in accordance with DOT regulations, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. Engage in daily customer interactions, fostering positive relationships and providing exceptional customer service. Essential Qualifications Hold a valid Class A license without any restrictions, including (E) No Manual, (L,Z) Air Brakes, (O) No Semi Trailer, or (K) Intrastate Only. Have a minimum of 12 months of tractor-trailer experience, demonstrating your ability to operate a commercial vehicle safely and efficiently. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience working with dedicated customers and line haul routes, showcasing your understanding of the importance of reliability and customer satisfaction. Familiarity with DOT regulations and compliance requirements, highlighting your commitment to safety and adherence to industry standards. Excellent communication and customer service skills, enabling you to build strong relationships with our customers and colleagues. Skills and Competencies Strong knowledge of transportation laws and regulations, including DOT and FMCSA requirements.
