Job Responsibilities As a Maintenance Team Member, your primary responsibilities will include: Providing exceptional customer service, ensuring that every customer interaction is positive and memorable Performing basic tasks related to landscape maintenance, including mowing, string trimming, blowing, edging, weeding, pruning, and edging Working outdoors in all weather conditions, lifting and carrying equipment and materials weighing up to 80 pounds Ensuring that all jobs are completed to the highest standards of quality and service delivery, with attention to detail and a focus on customer satisfaction Collaborating with crew members and supervisors to achieve team goals and objectives, and contributing to a positive and supportive team environment Utilizing software and processes to manage time, materials, and customer interactions, and ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively How We Measure Success We measure success in several key areas, including: Attendance and punctuality, as these are critical to meeting our customer service goals Budget vs actual hours, as managing time and resources effectively is essential to keeping jobs profitable Return rates, as we strive to minimize the need for rework and ensure that every job is completed to the highest standards Customer retention, as building strong relationships with our customers is essential to our long-term success Full utilization of software and processes, as these tools enable us to manage our operations efficiently and effectively Job Requirements To be considered for this role, you will need to meet the following requirements: Prior experience in landscaping, lawn service, or a similar service industry, or a willingness to complete training within 6 months A strong work ethic and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with crew members, supervisors, and customers Physical ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, lift and carry equipment and materials, and perform manual labor Reliability, punctuality, and a strong attendance record Essential Qualifications In addition to the requirements listed above, the following qualifications are essential for success in this role: A high school diploma or equivalent A valid driver's license and a clean driving record Ability to pass a background check and drug screen Basic knowledge of landscaping and lawn care principles, including plant identification, pruning techniques, and equipment operation Preferred Qualifications The following qualifications are preferred, but not required: Experience with landscaping and lawn care equipment, including mowers, trimmers, and edgers Knowledge of customer service principles and practices, including conflict resolution and issue management Experience working in a team environment, with a focus on collaboration and communication Basic knowledge of software and processes used in the landscaping and lawn care industry Skills and Competencies To succeed in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with crew members, supervisors, and customers Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions Physical ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, lift and carry equipment and materials, and perform manual labor Basic knowledge of landscaping and lawn care principles, including plant identification, pruning techniques, and equipment operation Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on collaboration and communication Career Growth Opportunities At The Grounds Guys of Carbondale, we are committed to helping our team members grow and develop in their careers.
