Job Overview and Responsibilities Welcome and orient new community members, ensuring they feel supported and informed about our mission and activities Answer questions and provide updates about our adoptable kittens, as well as general information about blithequark and our nonprofit organization Moderate chat comments to ensure a respectful and positive environment, adhering to our community guidelines and rules Collaborate with other moderators and team members to maintain a cohesive and engaging community experience Utilize our YouTube channel and other software to communicate with team members, sign up for shifts, and perform moderator duties To excel in this role, you will need to be comfortable using a desktop or laptop computer, as well as learning new software and technologies. A strong internet connection and a personable, detail-oriented approach to communication are essential. Requirements and Qualifications To be considered for this volunteer opportunity, you should: Be at least 18 years old and provide proof of identity Sign a volunteer agreement and confidentiality agreement Never have been accused of animal cruelty charges Be willing to pass a background check, if required Be reliable and punctual, committing to a minimum of 10 hours per week, with flexible hours that may change each week Be friendly, personable, and customer-focused in your online interactions Have experience in cat rescue, adoption, or volunteering, although this is not mandatory Not be an advocate for breeding animals, nor engage in breeding activities yourself While not essential, customer service experience and familiarity with online community moderation are highly desirable.
