About the Role As an Insurance Customer Service Representative at blithequark, you'll play a critical role in handling property & casualty (P&C) related customer service and billing inquiries via telephone, email, and direct mail. You'll provide customers with plan coverage information, quotes, policy changes, and policy change impacts to premium, ensuring that their needs are met and their insurance policies are up-to-date. Key Responsibilities Contact policyholders from our existing book of business through inbound/outbound telephone calls, direct mail, and email to review policies prior to renewal, and update policies to enhance retention and better meet the needs of the consumer. Counsel policyholders on appropriate coverage, policy limits, payment options, and state laws that will best meet their needs for sufficient protection against risks covered by Property and Casualty insurance. Receive and respond to calls and emails received by the insurance service center, documenting all activity in our EPIC system. Utilize your knowledge of insurance industry and agency policies and procedures to provide efficient and professional customer service, including providing quotes on endorsements as requested. Identify opportunities to apply discounts, process insurance verification forms for insured, and act as a liaison for information exchange between customers and insurance companies. Process changes to policies within EPIC, submit changes to specific companies, and follow up to ensure change requests have been processed in a timely manner. Review policy information and reference company-specific claims procedures to assist insured in filing claims. Recognize cross-sell opportunities (membership and insurance) and obtain quote information. Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Qualifications To succeed in this role, you'll need: A high school diploma or equivalent. 3+ years of increasingly complex customer service experience in an insurance environment. A Property and Casualty insurance license (required). A Membership license (preferred) or the ability to obtain one within 90 days of employment. Preferred Skills and Competencies We're looking for individuals with: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. The ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. A customer-centric approach, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences. Proficiency in insurance industry software and systems, such as EPIC.
