As an Instructional Tutor, you will play a critical role in our mission to empower Deaf and Hard of Hearing students to succeed in academics and beyond. **Job Summary** We are seeking an experienced Instructional Tutor to work with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students on a one-to-one or small-group basis. As an Instructional Tutor, you will be responsible for: * Assisting students in developing their academic skills, including reading, writing, and mathematics * Creating and implementing individualized learning plans to meet the unique needs of each student * Providing support and guidance to students in a variety of settings, including classrooms, libraries, and online platforms * Collaborating with teachers and other professionals to ensure that students receive comprehensive support and services * Maintaining accurate records and reports on student progress and performance **Key Responsibilities** * Administer diagnostic and achievement tests to pupils to identify areas of strength and weakness * Participate in conferences with teachers and other professionals to establish Individual Educational Plans (IEPs) for identified students * Compile instructional materials and resources to help meet the goals and objectives of IEPs * Communicate regularly with teachers and other professionals regarding students' progress and needs * Develop and implement tutoring schedules and interpreting services consistent with the daily school schedules and special activities * Maintain accurate records and reports on student attendance, attitude, health, performance, and progress * Explain the purpose and goals of the tutorial program to teachers and other professionals * Attend and participate in professional development sessions to stay current on best practices and research-based interventions * Perform related duties as assigned by supervisors or administrators **Qualifications** * Experience tutoring persons with disabilities, particularly Deaf and Hard of Hearing students * High school graduation or equivalent * Completion of at least 48 semester units (or 72 quarter units) at the college level, or possession of an Associate's or higher level degree, or pass an assessment that demonstrates knowledge of and the ability to assist in teaching reading, writing, and mathematics * Valid California driver's license (some positions may require employees to provide their own transportation to various work locations in the district) * Bilingual certification may be required for some positions * Ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and other professionals in a variety of settings * Strong communication and interpersonal skills * Ability to maintain accurate records and reports on student progress and performance * Ability to work independently and as part of a team * Strong commitment to creating inclusive learning environments and promoting academic excellence for all students **Skills and Competencies** * Strong knowledge of instructional strategies and techniques for working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students * Ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, and other professionals using American Sign Language (ASL) and/or Signing Exact English (SEE) * Strong organizational and time management skills * Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines * Strong commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current on best practices and research-based interventions * Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion **Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits** As an Instructional Tutor at Workwarp, you will have the opportunity to: * Work with a diverse range of students and professionals in a dynamic and inclusive environment * Develop and implement individualized learning plans to meet the unique needs of each student * Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to ensure that students receive comprehensive support and services * Participate in professional development sessions to stay current on best practices and research-based interventions * Receive ongoing support and guidance from experienced professionals in the field * Pursue opportunities for career advancement and professional growth within the organization **Work Environment and Company Culture** Workwarp is a leading organization dedicated to providing high-quality educational services to students with diverse needs.
