As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for gathering and analyzing data to inform healthcare services for individuals newly arrived in Rhode Island. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the healthcare sector and work with a talented team of professionals who share your passion for social responsibility. **Key Responsibilities** As a Grant Project Specialist, you'll play a critical role in the following key responsibilities: * Develop an assessment tool to evaluate the capacity of healthcare providers to deliver treatment to newcomer populations, defined as individuals newly arrived in Rhode Island with various immigration statuses (e.g., Refugees, Temporary Protected Status, Humanitarian Parolees, Asylees, Asylum Seekers, and those without status). * Collaborate with the team updating the state's healthcare inventory to extract relevant data for the Health Systems Capacity Project. * Distribute the assessment tool to healthcare providers in Rhode Island and collect returned data. * Conduct research on comparable assessment approaches, and consult with experts in treating newcomers to develop an effective capacity assessment tool. * Identify and select a digital database platform for collecting and analyzing data from healthcare providers. * Utilize the assessment tool to evaluate as many healthcare providers as possible through July 2025. * Meet regularly with Department of Human Services (DHS) staff to report on progress and strategize next steps. * Analyze collected data to draft a document outlining strengths and gaps within the Rhode Island healthcare landscape. **Qualifications** To be successful in this role, you'll need to possess the following qualifications: * Graduate-level studies in a community healthcare field. * Understanding of the healthcare needs of culturally diverse populations and migrating communities. * Research experience and proficiency in utilizing research databases. * Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word. * Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. **Essential Skills and Competencies** To excel in this role, you'll need to possess the following essential skills and competencies: * Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to collect and analyze large datasets. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with healthcare providers, DHS staff, and other stakeholders. * Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word. * Experience with digital database platforms and data management tools. **Preferred Qualifications** While not essential, the following qualifications would be highly desirable: * Experience working with newcomer populations and understanding of their healthcare needs. * Familiarity with grant writing and research funding opportunities. * Experience with data visualization tools and techniques. * Strong knowledge of healthcare policy and regulations. **Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits** At arenaflex, we're committed to supporting the growth and development of our employees.
