Job Summary The Full-Time Instructor of Nursing will be responsible for teaching assigned nursing courses, developing curriculum, and maintaining instructional standards. You will facilitate instruction using alternative delivery methods, inform students of instructional standards, and participate in the assessment of student learning outcomes. As a mentor and educator, you will guide students in their academic and professional journey, providing individualized support and feedback to ensure their success. Key Responsibilities Teach assigned nursing courses and maintain written instructional standards Develop new courses, curriculum, instructional materials, and evaluation tools Apply and maintain standards of quality operating methods, processes, systems, and procedures Participate in nursing course scheduling, department, division, and college meetings Incorporate the Core Competencies of Academic Nurse Educators as defined by the National League of Nursing (NLN) Participate in nursing student advisement assignments Contribute to new faculty development and new faculty mentorship when assigned Perform other related duties as assigned Essential Qualifications To be considered for this role, you must possess a Master's degree in Nursing or Nursing Education from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning recognized by the US Department of Education. Advance Practice Certification is preferred. You must also hold a current Arizona Registered Nurses Licensure, Current Health Care Provider CPR Certification, and have five years of experience as a professional Registered Nurse. Additionally, you must have an Arizona DPS Fingerprint clearance card for clinical access and successfully complete Cochise College's Medical History and Physical. Preferred Qualifications Three years' teaching experience in nursing education, preferably in a community college setting Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills Expertise in providing skills training and individual or small group tutoring Knowledge of trends, developments, new technologies affecting the Nursing program Skill in current technologies and word processing, database, presentation, and spreadsheet software, specifically Microsoft Office applications Skills and Competencies To succeed in this role, you must possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. You must be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to student success and academic excellence. You must also be able to adapt to new technologies, instructional methods, and changing healthcare trends. The ability to relate to a diverse population, maintain composure in difficult situations, and establish effective working relationships with colleagues, students, and the public is essential.
