Job Summary As a Federal Program Tutor Advisor, you will work under the direct supervision of a certified teacher to provide instructional support services to students in need of academic intervention and language acquisition. Your primary responsibilities will include providing one-on-one tutoring, assisting with classroom management, and maintaining accurate student records. You will also be required to conduct parent involvement activities, attend meetings and parent conferences, and provide support in a library or media center. Key Responsibilities Provide one-on-one tutoring to students in need of academic intervention and language acquisition Assist with classroom management, including organizing instructional materials and maintaining a positive learning environment Compile and maintain accurate student records on attendance, testing results, student progress, achievement, and other factors related to students' schooling Provide information, materials, and instructional support to classroom instructors Conduct parent involvement activities, including parent-teacher conferences, home visits, and parent education programs Attend meetings and parent conferences to provide information and facilitate communication between students, parents, and instructors Provide support in a library or media center, including assisting students with research and literacy skills Conduct progress monitoring assessments and maintain accurate progress monitoring data Perform other duties as assigned by the teacher or school administrator Essential Qualifications Completed two years (48 semester credits) of study at an institution of higher education, or obtained an associate's degree Met a rigorous standard of quality and able to demonstrate, through a formal State or local assessment, knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics (or, as appropriate, reading readiness, writing readiness, and mathematics readiness) Ability to maintain effective communication with students and staff and to function effectively as a team member Ability to carry out and evaluate the achievement of students after the teacher prepares the lesson and plans the instructional support activities Ability to test and identify and keep accurate records on new and existing students Demonstrate adequate level of instructional technology skills Experience and training working with children with diverse backgrounds in an instructional setting Preferred Qualifications Bilingual or multilingual skills Experience working with students with special needs or English language learners Knowledge of curriculum design and instructional strategies Experience with progress monitoring and assessment tools Skills and Competencies Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and parents Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced educational environment Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits We offer a range of professional development opportunities to support the growth and development of our staff.
