Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Staff Data Scientist to join our team, specifically within the Data Ventures crew. As a tech lead for all data science-related work, you will focus on Customer Data Science initiatives, mentoring junior colleagues, and implementing best practices across the team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on long-term or short-term projects, driving business growth and development through data-driven insights. Key Responsibilities Data Source Identification: Understand the concerned order of requirements and service level agreements, defining and identifying the most appropriate resources for required data, and performing initial data quality tests. Problem Formulation: Analyze business problems, question assumptions, and identify methods to solve them, setting data analytics goals and deliverables based on success criteria. Analytical Modeling: Select suitable modeling strategies for complex problems, develop variables and functions iteratively, and conduct exploratory data analysis activities. Model Deployment & Scaling: Work with MLOps to push ML models to production, continuously logging and tracking model behavior, and identifying parameters that may require adjustments. Code Development & Testing: Write code to develop specified solutions, creating test cases, proofs of concept, and contributing to code documentation. Applied Business Acumen: Evaluate proposed business cases, influence stakeholder decision-making, and translate business requirements into strategies and initiatives. Model Assessment & Validation: Identify and review model assessment metrics, applying appropriate techniques for model testing and tuning. Data Visualization and Storytelling: Identify and recommend suitable visualization tools, generating graphical representations of data and model outcomes, and building compelling stories to integrate multiple pieces of information into cohesive insights. Essential Qualifications To succeed in this role, you will need: A Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. At least 4 years of experience in an analytics-related field, with deep knowledge and understanding of machine learning, statistics, and data science. Strong programming skills in at least one of Python or R. Ability to execute projects end-to-end, including junior colleagues, and implement best practices in ML Ops, coding standards, and more. Clear communication skills to translate complex algorithm evaluations into simple language, with the ability to present to and influence various audiences. Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Advanced degree in a related field, such as a Master's or Ph.D. Experience working with large-scale data sets, cloud-based technologies, and agile development methodologies. Knowledge of data visualization tools, such as Tableau, Power BI, or D3.js. Experience with machine learning algorithms, including supervised and unsupervised learning techniques. Strong understanding of business acumen, with the ability to evaluate proposed business cases and influence stakeholder decision-making.
