About the Job In this role, you will be at the forefront of cross-functional collaboration, serving as the go-to expert for bookkeeping partners in the data and engineering spaces, creating a unique blend of liabilities. Your days will be filled with assessing data using SQL and Python, conducting in-depth data analysis and interpretation, designing complex drawings and flows, and contributing to critical bookkeeping research and design requirements. You will have the opportunity to work with all levels of management and cross-functional teams, both internally and externally, to drive key framework initiatives and improvements. Key Responsibilities Work cross-functionally with Technical Bookkeeping, Functional Bookkeeping, Engineering, Product, Finance, Tax, Legal, and other stakeholders on policies, processes, and projects, and help drive key framework initiatives and improvements Design and plan comprehensive bookkeeping data requirements to facilitate the seamless automation of journal entries, ensuring accuracy, completeness, compliance, and efficiency in financial cycles Lead functional improvement initiatives to further streamline revenue tasks and shorten the revenue close schedule Monitor data quality of journal entries prepared via the Revenue Subledger and design Data Quality checks for identified use cases through bookkeeping requirements design, ad-hoc investigations, new product launches, etc. Collaborate with the Product and Engineering teams to continuously improve our daily Revenue Reconciliation process and manage reconciliation analysis with the help of the analytics team Review new product designs presented during internal Financial Compliance meetings and evaluate the impact on existing or need for new bookkeeping requirements for the Revenue Subledger Cross-collaborate with collaborating teams on the journal entry streams for new or existing products for automation via the Revenue Subledger Perform monthly revenue bookkeeping close responsibilities, including but not limited to: GAAP revenue analysis, cost of revenue analysis, accounts receivable reconciliations, review journal entries, and review close package expectations Ad-hoc investigations and projects as assigned Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to have: 3+ years of experience in revenue accounting, data analysis, or business intelligence Solid knowledge of US GAAP, ASC 606 Revenue Recognition required; knowledge of IFRS a plus Intermediate/advanced SQL skills and ability to work with large volumes of transactional data, Python a plus Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing environments Ability to communicate with all levels of management and cross-functional teams, both internally and externally Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: Experience with data engineering and bookkeeping domains Knowledge of financial systems and accounting software Experience with data visualization tools and techniques Strong project management skills and ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At arenaflex, we are committed to supporting the growth and development of our employees.
