Experienced Full Stack Director – Live Remote Game Broadcasts and Event Production

As a Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the live creation of remote games, working with schools and college sports creation divisions, and collaborating with our team to deliver exceptional broadcasts. Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Director to lead our live remote game broadcasts and event production team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in television production, experience working with schools and college sports creation divisions, and a deep understanding of technical aspects of live remote game broadcasts. This is a full-time, remote position with a competitive salary of $27/hour. Key Responsibilities Provide guidance to schools on all aspects of TV production, including AP and promotion obligations, maker and chief obligations, and technical aspects of live remote game broadcasts. Liaise with school creation partners to provide constructive feedback on student-produced content. Visit school creation partner grounds to assess equipment needs, discuss and recommend industry-standard production procedures, and provide a channel for direction for school administrative staff. Design, coordinate, and execute live productions of live remote games, accurately recording all assigned events. Pursue on-the-spot decisions regarding what pictures and sounds will be broadcast; interpret data and information to choose shots, elements, and groupings. Work with Maker and Activities teams to determine camera placement at each setting; design and execute the capture of desired shots, live-to-tape constructs, and arrangements of shots. Work with design experts for the integration of all elements in a broadcast, including graphics, augmented reality components, switcher effects, composite music, and so on. Coordinate technical teams and consultants assigned to remote events; conduct production and technical meetings to define team responsibilities and establish expectations for the team for any given live remote game. Collaborate with the Running division to allocate technical teams for assigned live events; provide post-event feedback and constructive analysis to the Event Activities team and Manning office on assigned team members. Conduct research on the teams, players, storylines, trends, and so on to be learned on each game/sport assigned. Provide guidance to live talent before broadcasts and guide them as needed during broadcasts. Make on-the-spot adjustments to inclusion designs as unexpected circumstances and opportunities arise. Investigate, on-the-spot, operational issues that arise during assigned live remote games. Ensure that all advertisements and promotions for all assigned productions are accurately embedded. Participate in the development of ideas and content for assigned games to reach audiences and increase market penetration and viewership. For assigned live remote games, communicate and collaborate with teams, associations, school/college staff, coaches, players, and so on. Maintain ongoing communications with external resources, e.g., talent, production companies, to offer required services, equipment, and components, resources, parts, and data for assigned live remote games. Essential Capabilities A valid driver's license is required. Knowledge of the continuous live game coordinating cycles. The ability to clearly and concisely communicate to all team members during the live broadcast. Knowledge of the technical equipment involved in coordinating live remote games. Extensive live remote game coordinating skills. Knowledge of sports history. Preferred Capabilities Understanding of the financial implications of coordinating live remote games. Interest in popular culture, e.g., "what's cool" and helps in defining the preferences of ESPN's viewers. Understanding of the market positioning and strategies of assigned games. Travel required.
