From groceries and entertainment to clothing and crafts, we offer an extensive range of products that our customers love – whether they shop online at Walmart.com, through one of our mobile apps, or in-store. Our focus areas include customers, stores, and associates, in-store services, supplier equipment, supplier data science, and search and personalization. **Job Responsibilities** As a Full Stack Data Scientist at blithequark, you'll be responsible for: * **Data Source Identification**: Identifying and defining the most suitable data sources for required insights, collaborating with external partners as needed, and performing preliminary data quality checks. * **Problem Formulation**: Analyzing business problems within your area of expertise, questioning assumptions to help the business understand the root cause, and identifying and recommending solutions to drive business impact. * **Analytical Modeling**: Selecting suitable modeling strategies for complex problems with large-scale, multiple structured and unstructured data sets, developing variables and features iteratively based on model responses, and conducting exploratory data analysis activities (e.g., basic statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, statistical inferences). * **Model Deployment & Scaling**: Working with MLOps to deploy ML models to production, continuously logging and tracking model behavior against described metrics, and identifying model parameters that may need adjustments based on scale of deployment. * **Code Development & Testing**: Writing code to develop the specified solution and application capabilities, identifying the right programming language and leveraging business, technical, and data requirements. * **Applied Business Acumen**: Evaluating proposed business cases for projects and initiatives, influencing business stakeholder decision-making, translating business requirements into strategies, projects, and initiatives, and driving the execution of deliverables. * **Model Assessment & Validation**: Identifying and reviewing model assessment metrics based on analytical requirements, applying appropriate strategies for model testing and tuning to evaluate accuracy, fit, validity, and robustness, and ensuring testing data is documented and maintained by the team. * **Data Visualization and Storytelling**: Identifying and recommending the most suitable visualization tools based on context, generating graphical representations of data and model outcomes, and presenting to and impacting various audiences using the right frameworks and conveying clear messages through deep business and stakeholder understanding. **What You'll Bring** * Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, and 4 years of experience in an analytics-related field. * Deep knowledge and understanding of machine learning, statistics, and data science in general. * Strong programming skills in at least one of Python/R. * Ability to execute projects end-to-end, including junior colleagues. * Implementation of best practices in ML Ops, coding standards, etc. * Clear communication with business, product, and application partners. * Ability to translate complex algorithm evaluations into simple language. * Ability to present to management, including external clients. **What We Offer** * Multiple health plan options, including vision & dental plans for you & dependents. * Financial benefits, including 401(k), stock purchase plans, life insurance, and more. * Associate discounts in-store and online. * Education assistance for Associates and dependents. * Parental Leave. * Pay during military service. * Paid Time off – including vacation, sick, parental. * Short-term and long-term disability for when you cannot work due to injury, illness, or childbirth. **Join the blithequark Team** If you're a data enthusiast with a passion for driving business growth through data-driven insights, we want to hear from you!
