The Data Analysis team is responsible for creating and operating a variety of on-device software and Big Data products and applications that support these goals. These systems process petabytes of data and millions of messages daily across various data types. As a Data Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading the design, development, and maintenance of these large-scale data systems. Key Responsibilities Lead the design, development, and maintenance of large-scale data systems, including data pipelines and architectures Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business requirements and develop solutions to meet those needs Design and implement data processing systems that can handle large volumes of data Develop and maintain high-quality, scalable, and efficient code Lead and mentor a team of data engineers to ensure high-quality deliverables and provide guidance on best practices Work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and develop solutions to meet those needs Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues Essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on designing and building large-scale data systems Strong technical skills, including proficiency in languages such as Python, Ruby, Java, Scala, Swift, or Objective C Experience with data engineering tools and systems, including HDFS, Yarn, Flash, Impala, Kafka, HBase, MapReduce, Kubernetes, or Flink Excellent leadership and management skills, with experience leading and mentoring teams Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Computer Science or related field 10+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on designing and building large-scale data systems Experience with cloud-based data platforms, such as AWS or GCP Familiarity with agile development methodologies and DevOps practices Experience with data governance and data quality Skills and Competencies Strong technical skills, including proficiency in languages such as Python, Ruby, Java, Scala, Swift, or Objective C Experience with data engineering tools and systems, including HDFS, Yarn, Flash, Impala, Kafka, HBase, MapReduce, Kubernetes, or Flink Excellent leadership and management skills, with experience leading and mentoring teams Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple projects and tasks Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop creative solutions Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Apple, we are committed to helping our employees grow and develop their skills.
