About the Role We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Data Engineer to join our team at Southwest Airlines. Key Responsibilities Collect and process large, complex datasets to meet non-functional and functional business requirements. Identify, design, and implement process enhancements, including re-designing infrastructure for greater flexibility, improving data delivery, and automating manual processes. Develop required frameworks for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from various data sources using AWS and SQL technologies. Build scientific tools to utilize the data pipeline, providing valuable insights into key business performance metrics, including operational efficiency and customer acquisition. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data, design, product, and leadership groups, to address data-related technical issues. Work with partners, including the Leader, Product, Data, and Configuration groups, to support their data system needs while addressing data-related technical issues. Create or modify hardware and technology to meet client needs. Perform other work responsibilities as directed by Representative's Chiefs. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Proven experience in data engineering, with a strong focus on web and cloud-based applications. Expertise in AWS and SQL technologies, including data extraction, transformation, and loading. Strong understanding of data pipelines, data warehousing, and business intelligence. Experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and identify trends. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Preferred Qualifications In addition to the essential qualifications, the following qualifications are preferred: Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Experience with machine learning and artificial intelligence. Knowledge of data governance and data quality. Experience with cloud-based data storage solutions, such as Amazon S3 or Azure Blob Storage. Strong understanding of data security and compliance regulations.
