Job Responsibilities As a Full Stack Data Engineer at Southwest Airlines, you will be responsible for: Designing, building, and maintaining our cloud-based data infrastructure using AWS and SQL technologies Developing and implementing data pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from various sources Creating and maintaining data analytics tools and platforms to support business intelligence and decision-making Collaborating with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to develop and implement data-driven solutions Ensuring data quality, integrity, and security across our data platforms Participating in agile development methodologies and practices Staying up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in data engineering and analytics Requirements and Qualifications Essential Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field Middle to senior-level experience in data engineering, with a focus on cloud-based data infrastructure and analytics Strong technical skills in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala Experience with AWS technologies, including S3, Lambda, and Redshift Knowledge of data modeling, ETL, and data warehousing concepts Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and collaboration skills Preferred Qualifications: 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on cloud-based data infrastructure and analytics Experience with agile development methodologies and practices Knowledge of data streaming platforms such as Kinesis, Kafka, or Apache Storm Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or D3.js Skills and Competencies To succeed as a Full Stack Data Engineer at Southwest Airlines, you will need: Strong technical skills in programming languages and data engineering technologies Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Strong communication and collaboration skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Strong analytical and critical thinking skills Ability to adapt to new technologies and trends Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Southwest Airlines, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
