Job Overview The Director of Data Science position at blithequark is a senior role that leads the Global Data Strategy group within the Risk Finance department. The primary responsibility of this group is to develop and maintain centralized reporting capabilities, implement process enhancements and automation, and drive innovative data solutions to provide robust forecasts and analytics for the broader Risk Finance organization. Key Responsibilities Lead the strategic analysis of blithequark credit metrics, credit provision, and reserve for Senior Management in Risk and Finance, providing actionable insights that inform business decisions. Own and manage specific data assets/packages within Risk Finance, becoming a power user of relevant tools, troubleshooting issues, reconciling results, identifying enhancements and automation opportunities, and educating other users to drive adoption. Develop and maintain standard and ad-hoc reports used by Risk Finance and/or business partners, offering credit-related analytical support to stakeholders. Develop and present key analyses and recommendations to Senior Management, communicating complex data insights effectively and influencing strategic decisions. Build and maintain relationships across Risk Finance portfolio groups and with partners in Risk, Controllership, Tech, and other departments, fostering collaboration and driving business outcomes. Provide decision-support with a strong emphasis on developing analytics that identify trends and opportunities in the portfolio, which can be used to optimize business and risk decisions. Required Qualifications To be successful in this role, candidates must possess advanced experience working with a majority of the following tools and technologies: SQL/Hive, Power BI/Tableau, Python/R, VBA, and TM1. Additionally, experience working with a sophisticated level of Excel and PowerPoint is required. A background in machine learning (ML) modeling is considered a plus. The ideal candidate will have solid financial and analytical skills, with the ability to work with large datasets and draw meaningful conclusions, empowering business partners to make informed, data-driven decisions.
