With a presence in over 40 countries, our team of talented individuals comes together to create experiences that are both universal and personal. **Position Overview** As a Details Expert I, you'll be working in our Details and Data Gathering department, responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of sports information across all ESPN platforms, including television, digital, and print. You'll work closely with our team to create and maintain a comprehensive database of sports information, using both automated feeds and manual data entry to deliver high-quality content to our fans. **Key Responsibilities** * Ensure sports information disseminated by Details and Data is accurate, up-to-date, and engaging. * Collaborate with colleagues to deliver accurate and timely detailed breakdowns, clock-and-score, and other metrics and data that power a wide range of ESPN products and productions. * Create and maintain a working knowledge of Details and Data's role in fueling ESPN's digital and television productions. * Conduct thorough reviews of your own work and that of others, maintaining a high level of scrutiny and attention to detail. * Contribute to the development of new ideas, projects, and initiatives across the newsroom, and support newsroom leaders in coordinating full- and part-time staff. * Anticipate potential issues, both short-term and long-term, and propose potential solutions, communicating clearly and rapidly with colleagues on these matters. * Play an active role in working with colleagues to develop or refine production processes. * Participate actively in team and office meetings, seeking and responding to feedback on personal performance. * Stay up-to-date on current office policies and procedures. **Essential Capabilities** * Working knowledge of teams, players, and the rules of various sports. * Full-time availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. * Ability to quickly learn production processes that generate or maintain sports information that powers ESPN's digital and television products. * Capacity to achieve a high level of content accuracy in time-sensitive production environments. * Ability to communicate confidently, both verbally and in writing, with production managers and colleagues about production issues and opportunities, often in the midst of a busy newsroom. **Preferred Capabilities** * 1+ years of experience in sports or data analysis, preferably in media. * Knowledge of how sports information is used in media and for research purposes. * Working knowledge of ESPN products and productions. * Experience with Microsoft Excel and other Office tools. * Experience leading or training a team. * Ability to speak and write Spanish. * Experience incorporating social media in a business or news context. **Required Education** * High school diploma or equivalent. **Preferred Education** * Professional education or equivalent. **Work Environment and Culture** As a Details Expert I, you'll be part of a dynamic and fast-paced team that's passionate about delivering high-quality content to our fans.
