Key Responsibilities Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support database activity requirements and ensure the efficient storage and retrieval of data Investigate and resolve common database issues, performing disaster recovery tasks as needed Perform routine database maintenance activities, including file maintenance, backup and recovery, and SQL job management Optimize database performance, using knowledge of database sizing and performance tuning practices Develop and maintain technical documentation, ensuring that all database systems are well-documented and easily accessible Collaborate with development teams to design and implement database solutions, using SQL and other database technologies Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, applying this knowledge to continuously improve database systems and processes Essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent education and work experience Strong knowledge of SQL database systems, including database design, development, and administration Experience with performing routine database maintenance activities, including backup and recovery, and SQL job management Ability to investigate and resolve common database issues, performing disaster recovery tasks as needed Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical teams Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and outside the box Preferred Qualifications Experience with Azure IaaS and PaaS SQL technology, including database design, development, and administration Ability to develop PowerShell scripts, using knowledge of scripting languages and automation tools Experience with SQL AOG and database mirroring, including configuration, management, and troubleshooting Knowledge of database security best practices, including authentication, authorization, and encryption Experience with agile development methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban Strong understanding of data modeling and database design principles, including data normalization and denormalization Career Growth and Development At arenaflex, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
