Job Overview As a Data Entry Keyer at blithequark, you will be an integral part of our functional team that focuses on getting things right the first time around. You will work independently with minimal supervision to read work orders, shipping orders, and other customer service documents, and enter data from them into our computer systems. Your attention to detail and organizational skills will ensure that the information is verified before entry and keyed in consistently in format. We understand that data entry can be repetitive, so we have built-in filing and copying time to vary your days and keep your eyes sharp. Key Responsibilities Read customer and shipping orders submitted in person, via print catalog, and online, and decipher handwriting that can be challenging to read Key data into specific Microsoft Excel fields, with much of the work for online orders already completed Read and key in data from other source documents, ensuring accuracy and consistency throughout the system Verify that the data is accurate before entry and report any data errors or anomalies to your supervisor Keep accurate and updated logs of ongoing work and perform filing, copying, and other administrative duties for about three hours per day Spend approximately five hours daily on data entry keying, with the remaining time allocated to other administrative tasks Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will require: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) Strong reading comprehension and critical thinking skills Excellent organization and communication skills Patient and detail-oriented approach to repetitive work Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following skills and experience are preferred: Reading knowledge of English, with approximately 5-10% of orders also in Spanish One to two years of experience with data entry and/or filing Social perceptiveness and service orientation Career Growth and Learning Benefits At blithequark, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
