Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our team at blithequark, where you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining data pipelines, databases, and architectures that support our media business. Key Responsibilities As a Data Engineer at blithequark, your primary responsibilities will include: Gathering data requirements, creating source-to-target mappings, and developing data validation scripts Designing, implementing, and monitoring ETL/ELT data pipelines using SQL, Python, and other technologies Creating and maintaining database schema, tables, and views, as well as developing datasets to support science models and representations Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, product managers, and engineers, to ensure seamless data integration and flow Utilizing technologies such as Snowflake, PostgreSQL, Python, Docker, Gitlab, and Windstream to support data engineering activities Developing and maintaining automated workflow schedulers and ensuring data quality, integrity, and security Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field At least 2 years of experience in ELT/ETL data pipeline development and maintenance Proven expertise in using Python and SQL, preferably with Snowflake Experience working in a multi-environment setup (Dev, QA, Prod, etc.) and familiarity with DEVOP practices for code management and development Strong understanding of social database design and functionality Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications will be considered an asset: Experience working with large datasets and big data technologies, preferably cloud-based, such as Snowflake, Databricks, or similar Proficiency in cloud architecture and product offerings, ideally AWS Experience managing and deploying code using a source control system like GitLab/GitHub Familiarity with Docker and containerization Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you will need to possess: Strong technical skills in data engineering, including data pipeline development, database design, and data architecture Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to break down complex problems into manageable components Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders Strong attention to detail, with a focus on data quality, integrity, and security Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on delivering high-quality results and meeting deadlines Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At blithequark, we are committed to supporting the career growth and development of our employees.
