Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer and Information Architect to join our team at blithequark. As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining large-scale data systems, as well as developing and implementing data pipelines and architectures. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements, and develop solutions that meet the needs of our business. Key Responsibilities Design and execute data products and features in collaboration with product owners, data analysts, and stakeholders Contribute to the overall architecture, frameworks, and patterns for handling and processing large volumes of data Evaluate new technologies, tools, and methodologies based on high-volume data processing Translate product requirements into actionable units of work in engineering Implement distributed data processing pipelines using tools and languages common in the big data ecosystem Build utilities, user-defined functions, libraries, and frameworks to enable data flow designs Collaborate with engineering leads and other teams to ensure quality solutions are implemented and followed to engineering best practices Construct and integrate digital unit tests and participate in integration testing efforts Adopt and promote continuous integration and deployment practices Investigate data issues and perform root cause analysis Work across teams to resolve operational and performance issues Essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field 2+ years of experience in a data engineering or related role Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or NoSQL databases Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Strong communication and collaboration skills Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field 5+ years of experience in a data engineering or related role Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as AWS or Azure Knowledge of machine learning or artificial intelligence concepts Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems such as Git Certifications in data engineering or related fields Career Growth and Development At blithequark, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
