Job Overview In this critical role, you will be responsible for handling a high volume of customer service calls, resolving patient inquiries, and addressing concerns regarding their accounts, payments, and services. Your primary objective will be to provide outstanding support, ensuring that each patient interaction is personalized, empathetic, and solution-focused. Key Responsibilities Respond to customer service calls in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner, resolving patient questions and concerns efficiently and effectively. Demonstrate exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to ensure clear and concise interactions with patients, colleagues, and other stakeholders. Utilize Microsoft Office products and internet navigation tools to access patient information, review accounts, and perform other tasks as required. Communicate complex information in a clear, concise, and understandable manner, actively listening to patients and addressing their concerns with empathy and patience. Deescalate conflicts and remain positive in all situations, even when interacting with difficult customers, to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and loyalty. Collect and update patient demographics and other relevant information as needed, ensuring accuracy and completeness of patient records. Review explanation of benefit (EOB) documentation, notate accounts, and perform collection activity to resolve account discrepancies and ensure timely payments. Verify patient bills for accuracy and completeness, obtaining any missing information and ensuring that all necessary documentation is up-to-date. Collect patient payments, establish payment plans within approved guidelines, and complete and mail patient statements and return mail in a timely manner. Create a comfortable and peaceful atmosphere for patients, prioritizing their needs and concerns above all else. Answer all phone calls within 2 minutes of the call hitting the system, ensuring prompt and efficient service. Adhere to established dialogue parameters and performance metrics, answering an average of 65 calls per day and maintaining high levels of productivity and quality. Participate in in-services, seminars, and webinars to enhance knowledge, skills, and performance, staying up-to-date with industry developments and best practices. Maintain regular and reliable attendance, ensuring that our customers receive consistent and uninterrupted support. Essential Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required, with a strong foundation in customer service principles and practices. At least 1 year of experience in customer service and/or call center industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Customer Service Basics or equivalent training preferred, with a demonstrated understanding of customer service fundamentals and best practices. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in a remote or virtual work environment, with a proven ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Strong technical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office products and internet navigation tools. Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively in complex situations.
