Job Overview The Customer Service Representative will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service by explaining policy coverage, claim status, and assisting with claim payments or other policy information to policyholders and/or interested third parties. This role requires heavy phone contact, processing policyholder requests, and maintaining department standards for call handling and time management. Key Responsibilities Provide excellent customer service via phone, email, and correspondence, responding to policyholder inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner Process policyholder requests, including claim payments, policy changes, and other policy-related information Review and maintain new and revised procedures regarding policy information, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements Maintain department standards for call handling, average handle time, and time management, meeting or exceeding performance targets Collaborate with internal teams, including claims, underwriting, and policy administration, to resolve customer issues and provide seamless support Utilize computer systems and software to manage customer interactions, update policy information, and generate reports as required Requirements and Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a combination of education, experience, and skills, including: High school diploma or equivalent, with some college preferred At least one year of office experience, with telecommunications experience a plus Life and Health insurance background and knowledge of insurance operations desired Excellent communication, both written and oral, and organization skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive customer information with discretion Excellent alpha and number recognition skills, with demonstrated mathematical abilities Basic PC skills, with the ability to learn and adapt to new software and systems Able to handle high-stress situations calmly and with tact and professionalism Strong decision-making skills, with the ability to analyze situations and make logical conclusions Preferred Qualifications Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are highly desirable, with a pay differential available for qualified candidates Previous experience in a remote work environment, with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively Knowledge of insurance industry regulations and compliance requirements Work Environment and Culture At arenaflex, we are committed to providing a supportive and inclusive work environment that fosters growth, development, and success.
