Job Overview This exciting opportunity is part of the Payments and Digital Strategy team at blithequark Credit Union. As a Customer Service Representative, you will be responsible for a range of duties related to check processing, item processing, direct bills, and fund transfers. Your primary goal will be to provide exceptional customer service, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and contribute to the overall success of our team. Key Responsibilities Complete data entry and balancing functions to ensure accuracy and efficiency Coordinate return items with members, vendors, the Federal Reserve Bank, and other institutions Assist other departments with fraud resolution, member inquiries, and related Accounting standard ledger balancing Work member cases/sports assigned to you, providing timely and effective solutions Follow and maintain guidelines and procedures to ensure strict compliance with NACHA regulations and guidelines, as well as Federal Banking laws Process loan payments, multi-account and member deposits, credit card payments, and other checks, including IRA, bankruptcy, and payoff checks Review, examine, and approve Remote Deposit, Mobile, ATM, and other imaged-enabled products Log, report, and make necessary GL, account changes, and/or returns Process Stop Pays and Check Batching, ensuring timely and accurate completion of tasks Complete daily balancing and department closing, maintaining attention to detail and organizational skills Obtain information from members for the timely and correct processing of international and domestic fund transfer requests Research and confirm incoming and outgoing fund transfer information, ensuring accuracy and compliance Communicate with vendors to process fund transfers, building strong relationships and resolving issues efficiently Understand and be familiar with outgoing and incoming fund transfer laws, regulations, and procedures Deposit check returns, research member bad checks on draft changes, process member checks, confirm members for outgoing fund transfers, and Federal Reserve verifying and releasing fund transfers Complete daily processing of workflows associated with late returns, supply of receipts, foreign collections, and legal fees Qualifications and Requirements To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and skills: Essential Qualifications High school diploma or GED Intermediate Excel and Word skills Preferred Qualifications Previous customer/member service experience Previous banking or Credit Union experience Episys/Symitar and processing wires experience Skills and Competencies Skilled in Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) through work experience or training and hands-on use Ability to work extended hours in support of business needs Ability to exercise excellent customer service skills Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple tasks, and function as an integral part of a team Ability to perform mathematical calculations and analyze data Ability to effectively prioritize work and meet deadlines under high-volume pressure Ability to cross-train and perform any role assigned within the department Ability to interact professionally with all personnel and members Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision Ability to self-motivate with strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to maintain excellent performance and attendance Career Growth and Development At blithequark, we are committed to helping our employees grow and develop in their careers.
