Your duties will include assisting customers with questions and recommendations, managing sales transactions, maintaining the security of cash and protecting company assets, and keeping the store well-stocked and recovered. Key Responsibilities Assist customers with questions and recommendations to ensure they find what they need and have a positive shopping experience Manage sales transactions while working assigned cash register, handling customer payments, and maintaining accuracy Maintain the security of cash and protect company assets by following established procedures and protocols Keep the store well-stocked and recovered, including receiving merchandise, unloading trucks, and replenishing stock in accordance with productivity standards Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment by maintaining professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders Maintain the cleanliness throughout the store, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out the trash, and ensuring all areas are neat and presentable Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or managers to support the overall success of the store Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent is preferred Previous customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment is highly preferred Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents is required Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting Excellent customer service and relationship management skills are required Strong organizational and communication skills are required Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are required Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following preferred qualifications will be considered an asset: Previous experience working in a retail environment Knowledge of inventory management and control procedures Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations Basic math skills and ability to handle cash and operate a point-of-sale system Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills Ability to work in a team environment and support colleagues Basic math skills and ability to handle cash and operate a point-of-sale system Ability to lift and move merchandise and equipment Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At blithequark, we are committed to supporting the growth and development of our employees.
