Job Overview In this critical role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, processing freight bills, and assisting customers with freight tracking and status information. You will work closely with our customers, both over the phone and via email, to provide timely and accurate information regarding their freight. Your duties will include, but are not limited to, accurately preparing assigned billing, processing paperwork related to invoices, delivery receipts, manifests, damages, shortages, refusals, and bills of lading, and providing updates or reports as appropriate. Key Responsibilities Accurately prepare assigned billing, including receiving and inputting data Process paperwork related to invoices, delivery receipts, manifests, damages, shortages, refusals, and bills of lading Assist customers (over phone and via email) and provide information regarding their freight in a polite and professional manner, including: Tracing/researching freight status Marking bills Answering questions (specific and general) Obtaining corrections or re-rates Provide updates or reports as appropriate Sort and distribute paperwork within the office Consistently follow all safety procedures Assist in general clerical duties, including: Copying Faxing Imaging/scanning Filing Answering in-coming phone calls Assist coworkers and other departments as requested Requirements To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications: High School diploma (or equivalent) or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the necessary qualifications to perform the duties of the position successfully One to two years of general office experience Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel Hazardous Materials certification within one year of hire Transportation or freight experience Candidates must also pass a drug screen and background check as a condition of employment.
