Job Summary As a Customer Care Representative at blithequark, you will be responsible for answering inbound customer service calls related to patient accounting questions. When inbound call volumes are low, you may also make outbound follow-up calls on outstanding accounts receivable. Your primary goal will be to provide timely, first-call resolution to customer inquiries, ensuring that all interactions are handled in a professional, service-oriented manner. You will be an integral part of our team, working closely with leadership to review performance opportunities, provide coaching, and continuously improve our customer care services. Key Responsibilities Answer inbound customer service calls and make outbound follow-up calls in a professional, service-oriented manner, ensuring timely and first-call resolution to customer inquiries. Ascertain the reason for the call and assist the caller with their questions, concerns, or problems, documenting all actions during the call in our proprietary software. Participate in regular 1x1s and huddles with leadership to review performance opportunities, provide coaching, and discuss strategies for improving customer care services. Effectively summarize call interactions in notes, enabling seamless handovers to other team members and ensuring continuity of care. Facilitate conversations with customers, establishing a clear understanding of their issues or reasons for contact, and providing empathetic and personalized support. Maintain control of calls, de-escalating issues and instilling confidence in customers that their concerns are being addressed and resolved. Essential Qualifications To succeed in this role, you will need to possess exceptional customer service skills, including effective problem-solving and analytical abilities. You should have a professional and calming tone of voice, with complete command of the English language and the ability to articulate responses clearly and concisely. A high school education or equivalent is required, and 1-2 years of prior experience in an inbound call center or customer service environment is preferred. Knowledge of hospital patient account billing, 3rd party reimbursements, and managed healthcare contracts is a plus. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a healthcare or medical billing environment, with knowledge of patient accounting and reimbursement processes. Familiarity with managed healthcare contracts and 3rd party reimbursements from insurance companies and government payers. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and apply complex information to resolve customer inquiries.
