Key Responsibilities Manage the agricultural science program for the assigned campus, ensuring that students receive a comprehensive education in agricultural science and technology. Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of students, incorporating a range of instructional strategies and technologies. Oversee the Supervised Agricultural Experience Program (SAEP), guiding students in selecting and managing projects that foster hands-on learning and real-world experience. Serve as advisor to the local Future Farmers of America (FFA) chapter, planning and conducting leadership, citizenship, and career development activities that promote student growth and achievement. Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation, creativity, and critical thinking. Assess student learning and progress, using a range of formal and informal evaluation methods to inform instruction and drive student achievement. Foster strong relationships with parents, colleagues, and the broader community, promoting a culture of collaboration and mutual support. Participate in staff development activities, staying up-to-date with best practices in agricultural education and contributing to the ongoing improvement of our programs. Essential Qualifications To be considered for this role, you must possess: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in a relevant field. A valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training in agricultural science. Demonstrated competency in agricultural science and technology. Strong knowledge of curriculum and instruction, with the ability to design and deliver engaging lesson plans. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues. The ability to manage student behavior and create a positive classroom environment. Experience with budget management and inventory control. Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Previous experience as a CTE Agricultural Science Teacher or in a related role. A background in floral design and Principles of AFNR. Experience with SAEP and FFA programs. Strong technical skills, including proficiency in educational software and technology.
