Key Responsibilities: Respond to telephone and email inquiries from members and healthcare providers within defined service standards, providing timely and accurate support. Negotiate with healthcare providers to gain acceptance for plans without network agreements and/or out-of-network providers, ensuring seamless care coordination. Assist members with benefits and healthcare questions, providing clear and concise information to support informed decision-making. Document all calls received in a system-based call log, maintaining accurate records and ensuring efficient issue resolution. Build relationships with internal and external customers, including healthcare providers and plan members, to foster trust and loyalty. Utilize strong analytical and research skills to resolve complex issues and provide effective solutions. Requirements and Qualifications: Education: Minimum high school diploma or GED required; 2 years of college or higher education preferred. Experience: At least 1 year of customer service or call center experience in a healthcare-related role; medical intake or third-party administrator (TPA) experience preferred. Bilingual English-Spanish a plus. Skills and Competencies: Excellent customer relations and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle difficult situations tactfully and diplomatically. Strong appreciation and ability to handle confidential and sensitive information. Proficient with Microsoft applications and strong computer skills, including data entry and typing. Knowledge of provider organizations and networks, as well as CMS Medicare reimbursement rates. Ability to effectively negotiate rate structures and take initiative to resolve situations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal and external customers. Strong attention to detail and analytical skills, with the ability to multi-task and anticipate potential needs/problems. Medical terminology knowledge and understanding of self-funded health benefits a plus. Claim processing skills, insurance verification, or pre-certification experience a plus.
