As a Cloud Data Engineer, you'll work closely with clients to design, build, and implement scalable data handling systems on the Google Cloud Platform. You'll be responsible for managing data migrations and innovative projects, working with states, universities, and other public sector clients to develop large-scale data processing frameworks, and investigating potential platform issues. Your expertise will help drive excellence in our products and services, ensuring that our clients receive the best possible solutions. **Key Responsibilities:** * Direct clients on how to ingest, store, process, analyze, and visualize data on the Google Cloud Platform * Manage data migrations and innovative projects, working with states, universities, and other public sector clients to design large-scale data handling frameworks * Develop data pipelines optimized for scaling and investigate potential platform issues * Collaborate with Product Management and Product Design to build and continuously drive excellence in our products * Travel up to 15% of the time to client sites to deliver solutions and conduct on-site training and enablement * Utilize video conferencing for meetings, technical reviews, and on-site delivery exercises **Essential Qualifications:** * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience * 2+ years of experience in data handling programming (e.g., Hadoop, Flume, Pig, Hive) and analytics (e.g., MapReduce, Spark) * Experience coding in at least one of the following languages: Java, C++, or Python * Dynamic US Government Top Secret/SCI Trusted status **Preferred Qualifications:** * Experience working with data warehouses, including data lake architectures, framework components, ETL/ELT, and reporting/analytical tools and technologies * Experience with big data, data recovery, data mining, or AI * Experience building multi-tiered high-availability applications with modern web technologies (e.g., NoSQL, MongoDB, SparkML, TensorFlow) * Experience architecting, developing, or web-scale building large data systems in virtualized environments * Experience managing client-facing projects, investigating clients' technical issues, and working with design, sales, services, and clients **Skills and Competencies:** * Strong understanding of cloud computing, data engineering, and analytics * Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills * Strong communication and collaboration skills * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities * Experience with Agile development methodologies and version control systems (e.g., Git) **Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits:** At arenaflex, we're committed to helping our employees grow and develop their skills.
