We're now seeking an experienced Chat Moderator to join our team on a part-time, remote basis, ensuring our official Discord server remains a welcoming and respectful space for all users. About the Role As a Chat Moderator, you will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity and positivity of our online community. Your primary responsibility will be to moderate our Discord server, enforcing community guidelines and ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all members. Key Responsibilities: Monitor and moderate the chat on our official Discord server, deleting messages that violate community rules and guidelines. Take disciplinary actions, such as banning or muting users, who repeatedly or severely breach our community standards. Investigate user reports regarding potential rule violations, making informed decisions on necessary actions. Maintain a fair, consistent, and respectful approach to moderation, upholding The Mayeaux Foundation's values. Stay up-to-date with community guidelines and best practices in online moderation. Qualifications and Requirements To be successful in this role, you must meet the following essential qualifications: Be at least 18 years of age. Hold a High School Diploma or equivalent (GED). Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain impartial and professional. Have a strong understanding of online community dynamics and the importance of maintaining a positive, respectful environment. Be proficient in using Discord and familiar with moderation tools and best practices. Demonstrate a commitment to upholding community guidelines and promoting a culture of inclusivity and respect. Preferred qualifications include: Previous experience in chat moderation or a related field, such as customer service or community management. Familiarity with The Mayeaux Foundation's services and mission. Knowledge of programming languages or experience in online community development.
