Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Business Data Scientist to join our Impact Measurement team at arenaflex. As a Business Data Scientist, you will play a crucial role in supporting our organization to make better decisions by translating unclear questions into business questions, designing research to answer those questions, and communicating findings to non-technical audiences. Your expertise in data analysis, statistical tools, and causal research will be essential in driving business growth and informing strategic decisions. Key Responsibilities Design and lead informal research with the clear goal of answering business questions Present and communicate actionable insights and recommendations to executives, business leaders, and cross-functional partners Serve as a peer-reviewer and representative for causal research designed by other teams Stay updated with advances in the causal inference literature and develop new techniques when appropriate Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data-driven insights into business strategies and operations Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications: Master's diploma in Computer Science, Mathematics, Applied Data, Machine Learning, or equivalent sensible experience Experience with articulating business and product questions, and pulling data from datasets using SQL and statistical tools (e.g., R, SAS, Stata, MATLAB, etc.) Internship or experience with data evaluation Strong understanding of statistical concepts, including linear models, multivariate analysis, stochastic models, and sampling techniques Preferred Qualifications In addition to the essential qualifications, the following preferred qualifications will be advantageous: Experience with Bayesian hierarchical models, Bayesian Additive Regression Trees (BART), Bayesian Causal Forest (BCF), Gaussian Processes, and Synthetic Control techniques Experience designing and analyzing randomized controlled trials Experience designing and analyzing causal research using observational data Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, or C++ Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate insights and recommendations to non-technical audiences Strong collaboration and teamwork skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At arenaflex, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
