We are committed to creating a workplace culture that values diversity, inclusion, and employee well-being, and we are passionate about supporting our employees in their personal and professional growth. **The Opportunity** As an Assistant Underwriter - Real Estate Insurance, you will play a critical role in our Commercial Insurance Real Estate team, working on a portfolio of domestic Real Estate risks in accordance with Zurich guidelines. You will be responsible for underwriting and analysing new and renewal business, developing and maintaining relationships with brokers and cedants, and collaborating with other lines of business to ensure we meet our customers' needs. **Key Responsibilities** * Work under direction to underwrite and analyse new and renewal business within delegated authority levels of highly complex assignments * Administer and monitor underwriting guidelines while complying with insurance laws and regulations and pricing manuals * Develop, maintain, and collaborate with Line of Business representatives on referrals and other business-related needs, as appropriate * Work closely with the Risk Engineering/Claims and Customer Teams as required * Work with the Finance function and support the financial processing, premium collection, whenever required * Develop relationships with cedants and brokers in support of business retention and acquisition and provide solutions for their insurance-related needs * Complete detailed opportunity assessments with key distributors to identify growth opportunities * Qualify accounts to meet with the organization's appetite, balanced with sound business opportunity * Learn to negotiate terms and conditions and close deals * Cross-sell other lines of business to increase product density with the account * Handle and review large/complex underwriting submissions and annual underwriting reviews * Represent Zurich at internal and external events **What We're Looking For** * Accredited degree or similar insurance qualifications * Experience of working for an insurer/reinsurer on Real Estate/Property business (or similar technical lines) would be beneficial but not essential * Experience working in a multinational insurance business * Knowledge of insurance policy wordings, equivalent broker, and market clauses * Disciplined approach to exposure evaluation, risk assessment, and pricing * Additional language skills in addition to English an asset **Our Culture** At Zurich, we value diversity, inclusion, and employee well-being.
