Job Overview We are urgently seeking an experienced Asphalt Plant Laborer to join our team in Eagle, CO. This is a skilled position that involves control and operation of multiple types of asphalt equipment and labor duties. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing various manual tasks and safely operating a variety of equipment. Key Responsibilities Greasing and adjusting plant equipment to ensure optimal performance Unloading AC tankers and performing other labor duties as required Pulling oil/asphalt and cold feed samples for quality control purposes Collecting shot temperatures and performing other tasks related to asphalt production Safely and efficiently operating skid steer/man lift and other equipment Maintaining the general upkeep of the plant area, including cleaning and organization Assisting with maintenance and minor repairs on the plant equipment Performing other duties as assigned by supervisors or managers Qualifications and Requirements To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following qualifications and requirements: High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required Minimum of 1 year experience and/or training in a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience Minimum of 3 years of road construction experience preferred Must be 18 years of age or older Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen, and criminal background check Must maintain current driver’s license that meets state requirements Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook Willingness to work independently within a team environment and assist the team with other duties as required Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times Essential Skills and Competencies The following skills and competencies are essential for success in this role: Knowledge of aggregate sizes and classifications Knowledge of trenching and shoring standards Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently under a variety of working conditions Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as being able to work independently with attention to detail Ability to operate heavy and complex equipment that may include but not limited to Loader, Backhoe, Truck, Car, and Asphalt Paving Equipment requiring skill and the exercise of independent judgment Customer Service - Manages difficult or emotional customer situations; Responds promptly to needs Teamwork - Contributes to building a positive team spirit Judgment - Exhibits sound and accurate judgment Planning/Organizing - Uses time efficiently Professionalism - Approaches others in a tactful manner; Reacts well under pressure; Accepts responsibility for own actions Physical Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
