Job Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Arts Learning Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong passion for learning in and through the arts, as well as experience working in diverse capacities with people from various socio-cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. As an Arts Learning Coordinator, you will play a vital role in coordinating and implementing activities and administrative duties for the Arts Commission's Arts Grow SC program, including grants and direct programs. Key Responsibilities Work closely with the Arts Learning team and Arts Grow SC network to administer short and long-term planning goals for assigned programs and projects Provide consulting and technical assistance to constituents within assigned programmatic areas Initiate outreach to teachers, school districts, and district arts coordinators to share information about grant opportunities Facilitate workshops and presentations about grant opportunities throughout the year Manage incoming applications and new member SLED background checks for the Arts Directory Oversee the Artist Renewal Process and Applications, and coordinate discipline-specific panels of arts professionals for the arts directory evaluation process Organize annual SLED background checks for artists and organizations on the directory Report on new and expired members for the accountability report annually Create and implement an annual work plan for assigned programmatic areas Serve as project manager for short-term agency programs and projects Participate in SCAC staff and program meetings, as well as relevant Arts Learning team meetings Facilitate group processes, including grant panels, webinars, and other learning and community-building experiences Represent SCAC at local, statewide, and national cultural activities, meetings, and conferences Essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree in arts education, an arts discipline, or arts administration from an institution of higher learning recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation Knowledge of the arts, governmental cultural policy, and trends in K-12 arts education Experience working in diverse capacities with people from various socio-cultural and socio-economic backgrounds Experience working in grant allocation programs and explaining complex processes to various stakeholders Strong organizational skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously Self-directed with strong capacity for management of time and workload Ability to take initiative and consistently meet deadlines Ability to exercise excellent judgment and discretion Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, Google Professional suite, and other databases, internet research, and cloud-based software Preferred Qualifications South Carolina Educator Certification or equivalent Grant application experience (from SCAC or other sources) Three (3) years combined professional experience in arts education programming, community arts development, non-profit administration, or education administration Ability to speak Spanish Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits As an Arts Learning Coordinator with the South Carolina Arts Commission, you will have the opportunity to work with a talented team of professionals who are passionate about the arts and dedicated to promoting creativity and equity in South Carolina.
