Key Responsibilities Provide one-on-one tutoring to students in person at one of our Ann Arbor, Canton, or Northville offices, as well as virtually and remotely Develop and implement customized learning plans to meet the unique needs of each student Relay knowledge in an effective and individualized manner, using a variety of teaching methods and materials Build strong relationships with students and their parents, providing regular progress updates and feedback Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in college entrance exams and test prep strategies Travel to tutoring locations as required, with reliable transportation Qualifications and Experience To be a successful College Test Prep Tutor, you should possess the following qualifications and experiences: Desire to be a role model for high school and college-bound students Organized learner with subject-specific expertise and demonstrated achievement Highly motivated and proven ability to relay knowledge in an effective and individualized/customized manner Previous tutoring experience, especially ACT and/or SAT prep, in a one-on-one setting (a tremendous plus) Ability to tutor one-on-one in-person, virtual, and remote learning settings College Prep applicants should have scored in the 90th percentile or higher on their own college entrance exam(s) Essential Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students and their parents. You should also be highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple students and learning plans simultaneously. Additionally, you should be proficient in using technology, including virtual learning platforms and educational software.
